Assistant General Manager

This new and exciting restaurant/bar concept is hiring an Assistant General Manager to lead the front of the house team. The Assistant General Manager works in conjunction with the General Manager to oversee and direct the day to day service and administrative operations. This role is responsible for working cross-functionally across both concepts with a strong focus on hospitality, wine education and staff development and mentorship. The AGM is the relied upon individual in the absence of the General Manager, that supports staff training, guest service, product knowledge and education. 

Responsibilities include:

~Work collaboratively to achieve company objectives in sales, service and quality employee training 
~Ensure that all guests are receiving the highest level of service
~Fill in where needed to ensure guest experience is never compromised 
~ Work with the Corporate Beverage Director and Retail Manager to direct the programming and selections at the wine bar
~ Assist with weekly and monthly inventories and reporting procedures as needed 
~Schedule front of the house staff
~Assist in front of the house hiring, on-boarding procedures, training, supervising and progressive coaching and counseling
~Provide and demonstrate mentorship
~Develop and schedule educational programing to foster professional development issues

Requirements:

~ 3 years management experience 
~Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills 
~Knowledge equivalent of a WSET 2 Diploma or Level 2 CMS
~ At least 1 year in a wine buying position
~Preferred candidates will have had sommelier experience and maintain and active interest in natural wine
