Controller/V.P. Finance for Top S.F. Restaurant Group

Top 100 restaurant group is growing and is seeking an energetic, passionate, and experienced Controller/V.P. Finance to be a member of our team and the first line of support to Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete responsibility to manage and supervise accounting department including but not limited to accounting operations, cash management, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis and investor relations
  • Manage the company’s third-party accounting partner and serve as the main contact for that relationship
  • Manage third party relationships including landlords, banks and government entities
  • Manage in-house accounting direct reports and provide guidance and development
  • Mentor Senior management teams on P&L processes with timely periodic P&L meetings
  • Work closely with Construction and Development includes but not limited to project accounting, new entity formation, applying for licenses and permits
  • Provide ad-hoc business, financial and compliance advice to operations and executives
  • Create and manage cycle for annual operating budgets
  • Oversee financial affairs on a daily basis, ensuring that restaurants meet targeted top-line Sales and EBITDA targets
  • Manage Investor relations including but not limited to presenting new concept proformas, distribution schedules, and periodic reporting
  • Verifies the accuracy and timeliness of all finance functions: daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, audit, accounts payable, and cash and credit card management
 
Job Requirements
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, P&L reporting and balance sheet analysis
  • Minimum of ten years progressive experience
  • Hospitality experience - restaurant experience preferred
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to conduct effective group meetings and presentations
  • Superior Computer skills: Microsoft Office, POS/PMS systems, and the ability to create, maintain and analyze data utilizing excel and/or statistical tools
  • A four-year business or accounting degree. CPA/MBA is a plus
